How can so much poop come out of such a little body?

Today I had my first truly overwhelmed mother moment. Benny was sitting on my lap, and we were both chilling and watching some TV. He started to grunt and push, and I thought I knew what was coming. I had no idea.
Before I knew what was happening, I felt something warm and wet all over my hand and leg. I quickly stood up and started heading for the changing table. I was horrified to realize we were leaving a trail.
This kid pooped so much it blew out both sides of his diaper. I threw him down (set him gently in a safe location), quickly changed my clothes and washed my hands, and went back to the boy to repair the damage. By the time I got back to him, the nucky was all down his legs and up his back. Luckily (sarcasm), he was wearing a Onesie, which had to be pulled over his head. Oh yes, he was now head to toe covered in poo. Thinking quickly, I stopped up the bathroom sink and washed him up there. I didn’t really want to go through an entire package of baby wipes, and since the changing table was covered in baby butterscotch pudding, I knew trying to get him clean there would be useless.
Once the baby was clean, dry and re-clothed, I went to tackle the trail we had left on the carpet. Unfortunately, the dogs, trying to be helpful no doubt, had already cleaned up the majority of it…ewwwww. Finally, I changed again and threw my 2 pairs of PJs, Benny’s clothes, the washcloths, and the changing table cover into the washer. Whew.
I still shudder with flashbacks and wonder, how can so much poop come out of such a little body?
