Myspace

Yeah, so have ya’ll heard of this myspace.com thing? I had too, but I never paid much attention. I started this weekend browsing a little, and I am now addicted. (Luckily, I haven’t been kidnapped, nor molested as of yet.) So, I realized you can search by school and graduation date, which, of course, sparked the creepy Internet stalker in me. I’ve been cruising for unknown time and unknown bottles of hard cider to see what the people of yore are doing. It has been interesting, and at times, scary. Lots of people I graduated high school with I have no memory of. Something really scary about saying “Who’s that? He’s hot?” and realizing it was something that was a jerkface in high school. Of course, I was a jerkface in high school too…
The whole thing is making me have weird late-20’s crises (sp?). Seeing people I graduated with living (seemingly) glamourous, single lives in big cities, make me go…hey…why aren’t I doing that? Seeing people I graduated with as lawyers and doctors make me go…hey…why aren’t I doing that? (more the lawyer part–my deep dark secret wannabe career since…forever, no longer a secret I guess…darned hard cider) Luckily, it only takes a few seconds to think of Ben and Jason. To look at Rossi snuggled on the couch and Scout having a violent dream, and look around my messy, but pretty nice house, and realize that I am the lucky one.
It’s funny. I spent my teen years rebelling against my middle-class, suburban peers and community living the seemingly normal, stable, affluent lives. Here I am, only ___ years later (geez that is a big number), wanting the life. No, living the life. Here I am. A suburban goddess. With a DVD player in the mini-van and volunteering for pre-school. Describing myself as a mother above all. Proudly. Did I mention, proudly? I love Jason. Sure, we fight sometimes. Sometimes, it isn’t easy. Usually though…I am so proud of the smart, handsome, curious man that agreed to marry me and be the bestest baby daddy ever. And the baby. Oh…my Ben. Words can never express how much I love him, and how much he has added to my life.
Whoa…let’s urge this thought train back to the tracks. Myspace is a lot cooler than you would think. It isn’t all promiscuous 15 year olds…there is plenty of good stalking to be done, and perhaps reconnecting? We shall see.

5 days?
September 26, 2006 | Filed Under General | 2 Comments
You mean, I have to work 5 full days this week? And it is only Tuesday? Ugghhh…The weeks following shortened “vacation” weeks are always tough, but I am grateful as always to have a job in which to go. It is so beautiful today-warm with a chilly breeze. The leaves are already turning. I just want to strap on the camera and take a long walk. Instead, we are going out to dinner with some of J’s cohorts (which will be fun too)
Then, it is the best TV night of the week-House and Nip/Tuck-wheee!!!! Simple pleasures get me through the days, people.
Looking forward to the rest of the week:
1) Jason has a ton of reading to do for his second to last weekend of class.
2) Gotta get planning done for Ben’s bday, or it isn’t going to happen.
3) I’m going to a private scrapping party at the home of the woman who used to own my LSS–look at me having friends!
4) Jason’s running in his first harescramble race this weekend.
5) Thinking about taking Ben to the circus–do you think he’s too young?
…and I’m off.

A couple of pictures from Michigan and before we ever went to MI…

More video time!

It was a good weekend around here. Saturday, we got a babysitter and went on a date (although Jason says I shouldn’t say that, because it sounds “weird”). We went out for mini-dinner and a movie-Little Miss Sunshine, which was so good it made me pee my pants (figuratively, of course).
We spent lots of family time, playing, reading, and hanging out. We’ve been trying to get lots of video of Ben, but when he hears the beeps of the camera turning on, he flips out and stops being cute. He just wants to look at pictures and movies on it. We have to get him on the sly. Nonetheless, I’ve got a couple of cuties here.
It is amazing how much he is talking now, and it makes everything so much more fun with him. I returned from the store today, and Ben said “Mama, more crackers?” It was the most sentence-like structure we’ve heard.
I’ve been working on doing a little video editing, mainly because some of these were taken with the camera turned, and I needed to learn how to rotate them. Hopefully I will get more skillz as time goes on. Enjoy these flicks:
Boots
Chit chat (sorry it is so dark! Hopefully you can still gleam the cuteness)
