Happy Halloween!

Halloween used to always be my favorite holiday, but in recent years, I have gotten lazy. Last night, I got a Martha Stewart bug up my bum, and made these bat cupcakes for Jason to bring to his work party. I hear that they are yummy.

We had a good weekend, with Rod and Laurie visiting. Here are a couple of pictures, including Ben and Grandpa working together to put together his new table and chairs (thanks Auntie Lisa!), reading, playing patty cake, and eating Daddy’s famous homemade guac.

(updated) Oops: Comments broken

October 27, 2006 | Filed Under About this site, General | 2 Comments

After several days and several posts without any comments (even spam), I’ve discovered that comments are broken. oops. I’ll do what I can to try to fix them. I’m sorry to anyone who may have posted a comment that disappeared into the abyss.
–Update–
Thanks to Jessica’s testing and some spam, I know I am now receiving comments. Things still aren’t working perfectly, but I’d rather go enjoy my weekend and my houseguests than try to fix it. Although your comment may appear instantly to you, moderation is still required for others to view it.

On getting older

A women’s networking group at work is bringing in a few experts from the Mayo Clinic to discuss women’s health-specifically the transition to middle age, hormone replacement, and menopause. My young officemate asked me if I was planning to attend.

“Um…I’m not that old.”

Yeah, that pretty much cancelled out the young surveyor at the mall last weekend who was surprised that I was 27.

Rapidly heading toward the weekend

October 25, 2006 | Filed Under Eaglet, General | Leave a Comment

Hello. How can it already be Wednesday? Obviously, time does not know we have visitors coming tomorrow and a house to clean (oh yeah, and that very last MBA paper to write, right J?).

We had a decent, though busy weekend. Saturday was the grand opening/Halloween party at Ben’s daycare. I showed up at naptime to help out, and we returned later with Benji in costume. It is always so cute to see the kids all dressed up. Apparently princesses, fairies, and good witches were popular with little girls this year, while there was much more variety for little boys.

Sunday, Ben and I headed North to see Auntie Lisa and Jackie in Minneapolis. We had a good time shopping and visiting. It was a long day, but a short visit. I learned that the Rainforest Cafe might not be the best dinner spot for an overly-tired and overly-stimulated toddler. The thunderstorms forced Benji to spend most of the meal with his head buried in my chest. Oops. In the meantime, Jason was working in the cold all day at his club’s harescramble race.

Yawn…I’m even boring myself. Will you accept some pictures by way of apology?
