Yes, I am way behind on posting, though I posted a bunch of pictures on Flickr earlier in the week. I hope to post more soon, but now we are in Michigan. Here since Thursday, returning next weekend. All in well with the welikedogs.com crew.
So it begins

This weekend, Sammy started putting the balance and movement together to crawl. Today, daycare report that he PULLED HIMSELF TO STANDING ON THE BOOKSHELF. Can this even be true? Please, let it be a fluke and not a new trick…

Five years ago today, Jason and I stood on the shores of Lake Superior and vowed to be partners for life.
Just recently, we talked about how much our relationship has changed. Then, we spent nearly all of our time together. Our hobbies, friends and time was shared. Now, sometimes it seems we never see each other. Between our jobs, our separate hobbies and friends, and the children we share, our lives are hectic. However, the “tower of power” we inaugurated 5 years ago is only stronger today. The rare moments we spend alone is precious, and the time we spend with our family is priceless. Our friendship and love continue to grow, even without the hovering attention of the past.
Five years: So far, so good.
Happy anniversary, Jason. I love you, and I would marry you again.
Six for kicks

Little Sammy is growing to big Sammy before my eyes. Today, he turned 6 months old.

I’m sure his diet is helping him grow. His is an eater! In addition to mommy’s milk and rice cereal, we’ve added bananas and sweet potatoes to his diet. He’s cautious with new foods and makes a thoughtful and suspicious face for the first bites. I’ve given him a bit of water in a sippy cup also this month. He like to hold the cup and put the spout in his mouth (of course, as everything goes into his mouth), but doesn’t get the cup tipped for an actual drink.
Sammer’s is a very expressive boy and has so many different faces. There is the toothy grin, the shy smile, the flirty side glance, the eyebrow rise, and the bottom lip sucked in. Each expression is my favorite (at that moment!). He is growing more verbally expressive, as his babbles “baba” “dada” and the very occasional “mama”. His newest trick is sticking his tongue out, and I can’t help but laugh when he does it.
My big boy can now sit very well on his own and moves like lightening. He’s not crawling yet, but can flip and roll, jump to his knees and wiggle just about anywhere. At daycare, he loves the jumperoo, but at home, he’d prefer to be on the floor exploring. In fact, he has figured out how to flip himself out of the Bumbo seat for freedom. Don’t worry, there is no more baby centerpiece. The seat is always safely on the ground. One of my favorite new tricks to “contain” him is to put him in front of the mirror. I can watch him from my throne (in the bathroom) and know he won’t go too far while he has that adorable twin baby to play with.
Sammy is so sweet, and we often get comments on how patient, how smiley, and how cute he is. “He is such a happy baby,” we’ve been told, and I can’t disagree. He is getting a little spoiled though. Yes, he is still sleeping with Mommy and is turning into a Mommy’s boy. He’ll can play contently by himself, with Ben, or with Daddy but when he sees me, I’m all he wants. We’ve got to work on that.
Sammy, when the days are long and work is tough, all it takes is one big smile from you and all the struggles drift away. I find more reasons to love you everyday. My silly little monkey, I want 10 more babies just like you.
