I haven’t posted many hanging out pictures lately.
We got Ben a basketball hoop for his birthday. It grows from 3-6 feet tall, currently it is at 4 feet. He’s having a ball (haha) with it.

Sammy is now a big spoon grabber. I have tried to compromise by giving him his own spoon, but he wants them all…to drop on the floor. He thinks he is sooooo funny.

Some of these folks will look familiar. We’ve been planning fall family photos since the summer, but I was starting to worry about our schedules meshing. We got them in the nick of time, as we got SNOW today!!! We definitely can’t complain about the wind, can we?
I don’t think this family could take a bad picture!

No more monkeys…

jumping on the bed.
Nap time today. Jason was at the metal store. I was making apple pies and talking to my Dad and Bonnie. Suddenly, CLUNK! Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Usually, we ignore falls and bumps. I could tell this wasn’t one to ignore. Ben was holding his head, and then I saw the blood. I called Jason home, and we were off to ER. In a miracle of modern medicine, they glued his head back together and sent us home. They even cleared him to go to a gymnastics birthday party an hour later. Apparently, the glue works well on area of the face that don’t move much (Ben’s forehead), on straight cuts, and leaves prettier scars. I’m sure I’ll get pictures soon, but he now has a 1 inch vertical cut in the middle of his forehead. Props to me, I totally didn’t freak out! Hopefully, my monkey learned something from this adventure.
In other news, Ben has been such a character lately. We got a Toys R Us toy catalog in the mail, and he has been studying it intently. He shows us everything he wants for Christmas, which is pretty much everything in the book. I remember doing the same this with the Sears catalog when I was a kid. I love listening to his commentary and reasoning. “This is cool, and cool, and cool!…But, that isn’t for me.” “This is a great toy for me, because it is for boys/kids.”
He helped me pick out Kiana’s birthday gift. When I asked what he thought she would like, he said something with princesses, because girls like princesses. I found a little Disney princess play set. I think it was Cinderella and blue. He stopped me right away, and insisted we get pink, because girls like pink. This obsession with gender appropriate toys is new, but inconsistent. When Kiana opened a package with many pairs of dress-up princess shoes in multiple colors, Ben was quick to claim the yellow heels
