The final entry in my attempt to catch up (though I’ll still be behind):
Tonight, we had a picnic and play time at the park. The kids had a BALL, despite the cold.

For my failing memory, I like to document funny things the kids say, favorite toys, and other quirks of their ages. I have failed miserably as of late (obviously), but I wanted to take a minute to show each of the kids with their current favorite toys.
And a few bonus shots around the house from last weekend. The kids play so well together!

New bike!

Several weeks ago, we bought Ben a dirt bike, a little PW50. Some day, we will post photos. He’s very excited, but he needs to learn to ride a pedal bike FIRST. Since he’s outgrown his, we got him a new one last week. Sam, though only 2, hopped right on the little bikes at the store, so we pulled out Ben’s old bike for him. Sammy got his own helmet, just like brother’s. Here’s a few snaps of the boys on their bikes on Sunday.

And as an added bonus, a couple of the kids with sidewalk chalk later the same day. It shows so well how they interact:

So behind!

Started over a week ago. I figure I better just push it out or never finish it. Therefore, it ends abruptly, but with cute pictures

I’m trying to figure out where to start…
It is Saturday morning at 8:15 (as I start this), and things are nice and quiet here. Last weekend was daylight savings, and I’ve been complaining all week about how it has messed with our schedule. This morning, I was grateful for kids who slept a little later. Jason is on-call all weekend, and had 2 calls in the night. I’m aiming to let him sleep a while.
Tomorrow TheFinale will be 33 weeks. I had an appointment yesterday, and all is still good. I’ve entered the land of appointments every 2 weeks, which seems crazy. This kiddo will be here before I know it. Ack! I haven’t posted any belly pics lately, but lots will be coming soon. I’ve volunteered to “model” for maternity shots for the portfolios of several photographers I know. I’ll share here as I start seeing the results.
Monday, Sam fell at daycare and was rewarded with 3 stitches. He took it like such a trooper. He was calm by the time I picked him up, and remained that way unless someone was messing with his eye. Another teen modeling career smashed
These were taken with my cellphone, so the quality is poor.

Otherwise, Sam has been healthy. Since the pneumonia, he’s only had a mild cold, which never developed into an ear infection. I am so happy we finally got those tubes. The kid is quite possibly one of the cutest EVER. He has a big toothy grin and loves to laugh and be silly. Lately, he’s been into dancing. We really need to get a video of it to share. He goes crazy. He’s playing puppy lots lately, crawling and barking…even licking my face once. Ugh. He still gives his world famous Sammer hugs, though they are quicker and more rare. He is too busy! He is also waaaaayy too two. We hear lots of “No,” “I do it myself!,” and just generally see his backside far too often. He is a handful that his huge and exhausted momma has a hard time with. His other fun new “game” is pulling down everything he can reach from the bookshelf located next to his crib. Another reason to get Ben moved out and the room rearranged, though I shudder to think the damage he could do if he was actually able to get OUT of bed.
Ben is doing really well. Last week, we attended Kindergarten round up and we’ve officially gotten his acceptance into the program of our choice. It’s hard to believe my baby will be getting on the bus next year to go to REAL school. He’s definitely ready. We had teacher conferences at daycare last week, and his teacher has no concerns with him academically. He is beyond where he needs to be. We’re seeing this at home, as we work on reading. He’s doing leaps and bounds better than just weeks ago…as long as we manage his frustrations.
