It’s a boy!

I just got off the phone with Rachel, and Samuel James was born at 3:40 this afternoon. He weighs 9 lbs. 8 oz. and is 21 inches long.

He is healthy and has the appropriate amount of fingers and toes. I’ve seen a picture on my phone of said baby toes, and they are indeed cute.

Rachel and Jason are both pretty happy. When I asked Rachel how she was feeling, she said, “Good — well, yeah. Very good. Amazing. It was so quick.” Jason suggested that if the birth had gone any quicker, they could have used the drive-thru window.

Jason is on his way to pick up Ben, so that Ben could meet his new little brother.

Congratulations Rachel and Jason! What a great Christmas gift.

    Indeed…congratulations, you guys! I’m so glad we can now refer to theDeuce as Sam! :) Looking forward to seeing more pictures soon, though yes, his feet are pretty darn cute! :) What a quick labor, too. Wow. Drew and I are so happy for all of you!

    Congrats, congrats, congrats! Yay for quick labor! I was so excited to see if you had the baby I had to come straight to the computer lab after my chemistry final. Welcome, Sammy! We can’t wait to meet you after our entire family gets over the plague!

    Unbelievable! I didn’t even check until this morning because I was sure he wouldn’t be born so quickly! Sheesh! My C-section took longer than that – you rock!

    He is absolutely beautiful! 0-3 mo clothes will be kind of a waste though :)

    Hooray! AND you won’t even have to be in the hospital for Christmas! Yippee!!
